Devoid
On the Cheltenham estate in the grips of winter in Manchester
lives poor old Anna (21) who with a dead end job and not many friends feels all
alone and rejected by most. Until one day when Cole (22) a young, unemployed
and isolated boy moves in across the street. His reasons for moving and where
he actually moved from are suspiciously grey but Anna doesn’t care as she has
found the first person who understands her and the two of them immediately
become friends and have a possibility of something more. But one night she
hears a loud banging from Cole’s house. Anna goes to check on him but she can’t
seem to find him, and neither can anyone else. As suspicions rise and Anna
becomes determined to find out what happened to him, Anna feels like someone is
watching her as a dark figure starts to stalk her around her daily life, doing
nothing but stand there, watching as Anna desperately searches for any explanation
as to where Cole could have gone. The police won’t help her, she’s a suspect,
why would they? Anna gets more and more paranoid and locks herself in the
house, but what was that noise upstairs?
